Have you seen the candidate statements on the Knowledge Quest Blog? 

Each candidate responded to this question: What is the biggest/most important change that AASL could make in the next 3 years? They also recorded a one-minute video statement.  What fun it is to see the faces and hear the voices of these passionate and dedicated school librarians!

A theme runs through these statements.  Many see a need for AASL to continue to build and strengthen coalitions to benefit children and young adults. Others call for us to create more avenues for member involvement. Many speak to the opportunities and needs created by the National School Library Standards for Learners, School Librarians, and School Libraries (AASL, 2018).

As a candidate for President-Elect of the American Association of School Librarians, I wish to share a little bit about what I have done with school libraries, my ideas about the challenges we face as school librarians, and some strategies for moving forward.
